Support to the Liberia Revenue Authority

The institutional cooperation between LRA and STA is expected to lead to increased efficiency in Liberia s tax system and an increased proportion of taxpayers who voluntarily pay taxes. The effort aims to build capacity at the Liberian tax authority, the LRA, with the ambition to increase transparency towards the country s taxpayers and to improve trust between taxpayers and the LRA. In the longer term, the effort is expected to contribute to increased tax revenues, which in turn can provide greater budgetary space for, for example, health and education.The effort focuses on building LRA s capacity in three areas: (i) the relationship with taxpayers (ii) Human resources, with a focus on leadership and (iii) compliance risk management.
