Website Analytics

The ITC Secretariat has contracted a third-party service provider to track and analyse non-personally identifiable information about the usage of the ITC Secretariat website. All data collected by the service provider, Lucid. Berlin GmbH, is owned and used by the ITC Secretariat. The service provider uses Matomo to analyse user behaviour.

Cookies collect information about user behaviour on the site, including the abbreviated IP address of the device being used, and send it to the server. The server anonymises the information and stores it for the purpose of analysing user behaviour. The state of current technology ensures that, once information has been anonymised, it can no longer be traced back to the originating device or connection. Information produced by cookies is shared only with the internally operated server. It is never shared with third parties and is not transferred to third countries.

Data is processed on the basis of Article 6 (1 f) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the purpose of pursuing the controller’s legitimate interests, in this case to improve the website. You have the right to object to the processing of your user data for the purpose of user behaviour analysis.

You have given consent to process your usage data if you have clicked on "Ok, I agree" on the Cookie Popup. If so, you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the button "Privacy Policy" at the bottom of the page.

In other words, information collected is non-personally identifiable, and only summaries of visitor’s behaviour are produced. Examples of this type of information include statistics on which pages are most popular and which are least popular. The information collected cannot be traced back to a particular individual. The purpose of this data collection is so that the ITC Secretariat can better understand the preferences of its visitors and improve its site and services. This information collected is never connected with any personal information you supply to us if you register on our website. Recording the IP address and information such as browser type and operating system helps the ITC Secretariat learn about the geographical distribution of our website visitors and the technology they use to access our site. This information is never connected with the personal information you supply to us if you register on our website.

Duration of Data Retention

Personal data are regularly deleted when:
    • The individuals concerned have not given any separate authorisation,
    • Statutory data storage obligations and periods have expired.

Reference to User Rights

You are entitled to:
    • Object to data processing,
    • Enquire about your personal data and its processing,
    • Have this corrected if necessary, or to request restriction of processing or the erasure of the data.
The data will then be erased from our system.

Security

The ITC Secretariat employs a range of technologies to protect the information maintained on our systems from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
