Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Support

Funding under this initiative supports the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum to ensure that the APEC developing economies are able to fully benefit from their membership of APEC through a variety of different activities. Support under this initiative aims to strengthen the APEC Secretariat and includes: annual contributions to the APEC Support Fund for projects, the provision of a Development Program Specialist within the APEC Secretariat, flexible contributions to the APEC Effectiveness Grant to support project quality, and annual contributions to the APEC Secretariat's Policy Support Unit; implementation of a project management reform agenda that Australia has been leading through APEC's Budget and Management Committee. The total value of this initiative is $35.5 million over 10 years, starting 2007-08.
