Papua New Guinea-Australia Tax Office Twinning Scheme Phase 2

The Economic and Public Sector (EPSG) Twinning Initiative Phase II involves six Australian Government agencies partnering with seven Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) agencies on jointly agreed short term (less than 12 months) activities to provide PNG public servants with first hand public policy and technical experience from their Australian counterparts. The primary objectives of the Initiative are to: 1) develop relevant public policies that are implementable to achieve outcomes; 2) improve technical capacity to achieve institutional mandates; and 3) strengthen workforce capacity, finance and corporate systems for improved governance and performance. This initiative supports some of PNG's highest priority needs. The total value of this initiative is $16.7 million over 6 years, starting 2010-11.
