AFGHANISTAN RECONSTRUCTION TRUST FUND

The Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF), managed by the World Bank, is the primary multi-donor mechanism for financing the Government of Afghanistan's civilian and development expenditures including national priority programs. Funding to the ARTF assists the Afghan Government to deliver essential programs in education, health, agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, and governance. The ARTF also comprises an Incentive Program, through which the Afghan Government's performance towards agreed economic reforms is assessed and rewarded. The total value of this initiative is $457.7 million over 13 years, starting 2008-09.
