Recipient
To support the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) to deliver an effective, inclusive and environmentally sustainable response and recovery from the COVID economic crisis. The ultimate beneficiaries are poor people and disadvantaged groups affected by COVID's economic impacts, such as the loss of jobs, businesses, and livelihoods. To achieve this, the programme will influence, inform and support GoB to respond more effectively to their needs by improving the quality and impact of its economic policy in selected areas, such as green growth, job creation and domestic resource mobilisation. This will contribute to Global Goals 1 (No Poverty), 8 (Decent Work and Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 13 (Climate Action) and 17 (Partnerships to finance sustainable development). The programme will generate data, analysis and research to help create demand for and inform policy change, support local think tanks to advise and influence GoB policies, and provide technical assistance.
