Programme Estimate Support to NAZ

The purpose of this Multi-annual Programme Estimate (PE) is to support the National Assembly of Zambia (NAZ), towards implementation of selected capacity-building activities foreseen under the “Support to the National Assembly of Zambia Programme II (NAZ II)” project. The NAZ II project includes the PE and a service contract, and forms part of the “Support to Effectiveness and Trans-parency in Management of Public Resources (EFFECT)” programme, which is supported by the Eu-ropean Union (EU) under the 11th European Development Fund (11th EDF). This PE specifically aims to achieve the following results:
_Improved capacity of the legislative scrutiny of the budget;
_Improved quality of analytical policy briefs on the budget by the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO);
_Improved quality of Parliamentary Committees’ recommendations on the budgets;
_Enhanced gender-responsive budget analysis.
