UNU-WIDER joins the ATI
The Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) welcomes UNU-WIDER – United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research as its newest supporting organisation. With UNU-WIDER’s membership, the ATI now counts 81 members and continues to strengthen its network of partners committed to promoting fair and effective domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM).
UNU-WIDER has been a close and highly valued partner of the ATI over the years. Its expertise in tax research and capacity development will further support the partnership’s efforts to advance evidence-based approaches to DRM.
The collaboration between the ATI and UNU-WIDER has already produced important results, particularly in the framework of ATI Action 1, including the Tax Gap Toolkit and the Tax Gap Community of Interest. These joint efforts have demonstrated the value of cooperation in strengthening tax research, data, and knowledge sharing.
The ATI looks forward to further strengthening this collaboration and continuing to work together on evidence-based and sustainable approaches to taxation and capacity development.

How can a country or organisation join the ATI?
Countries can join the ATI as partner countries or development partners by sending a signed endorsement letter to the ATI Secretariat, declaring their commitment to the Seville Declaration on DRM. The endorsement letter needs to be signed by an institution that is authorised to sign and that can provide the necessary political support to fulfil the ATI Actions (e.g. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance or the like).
Organisations can join the ATI as supporting organisations by sending an endorsement letter signed by a representative within your organisation that is authorised to sign and that can provide the necessary political support to affirm support to the Seville Declaration on DRM.
The ATI Secretariat will forward the signed endorsement letter to the ATI Steering Committee for information and approval. To receive a template for the letter of endorsement, please contact secretariat@taxcompact.net.
