Togo joins the Addis Tax Initiative
The Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) is excited to welcome Togo as its newest member and latest partner country. This addition brings the totality of ATI members that are working towards the promotion of fair and effective domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM), policy coherence and the social contract through partnerships and knowledge building to 70, with 30 partner countries, 20 development partners, and 20 supporting organisations.
By signing a letter of endorsement of the ATI Declaration 2025, the Togolese government commits to promote DRM on the basis of equitable tax policies as well as efficient, effective, and transparent revenue administrations. Togo’s efforts to combat offshore tax evasion shines via its membership in the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, contributing to the implementation of global transparency standards for effective and efficient tax systems. In addition, in line with the ATI commitments, Togo is part of the global efforts to fight tax-related illicit financial flows such as tax evasion and avoidance as a signatory of the Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters and member of the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS).
The Addis Tax Initiative looks forward to cooperating with Togo, supporting the country’s efforts to increase revenue collection, enhance the social contract, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by providing technical assistance and a platform for knowledge exchange with other partner countries, development partners, and supporting organisations.
