Lesotho joins the ATI
With Lesotho’s membership, the ATI now comprises 82 members, including 35 partner countries, 20 development partners, and 27 supporting organisations, all committed to advancing fair and effective domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM).
Lesotho joins the ATI with a strong commitment to advancing DRM reforms as part of its broader development finance agenda. The country has highlighted the importance of not only increasing revenue collection, but also building a more efficient, transparent, and inclusive tax system. This includes strengthening tax administration, improving compliance, and supporting reforms that contribute to sustainable public finance.
Through its engagement in the ATI, Lesotho will join a global network of partners working together through peer exchange, knowledge sharing, and capacity building to address common challenges, strengthen tax systems, and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The ATI warmly welcomes Lesotho and looks forward to a fruitful collaboration that will further support cooperation on taxation and development.
How can a country or organisation join the ATI?
Countries can join the ATI as partner countries or development partners by sending a signed endorsement letter to the ATI Secretariat, declaring their commitment to the Seville Declaration on DRM. The endorsement letter needs to be signed by an institution that is authorised to sign and that can provide the necessary political support to fulfil the ATI Actions (e.g. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance or the like).
Organisations can join the ATI as supporting organisations by sending an endorsement letter signed by a representative within your organisation that is authorised to sign and that can provide the necessary political support to affirm support to the Seville Declaration on DRM.
The ATI Secretariat will forward the signed endorsement letter to the ATI Steering Committee for information and approval. To receive a template for the letter of endorsement, please contact secretariat@taxcompact.net.
