TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR REVENUE ADMINISTRATION AND REVENUE POLICY - ARGENTINA

Assistance to La Administracin Federal de Ingresos Pblicos (AFIP) will develop the functions of its Employee Integrity Unit and improve its capacity for internal audit and investigations, with the aim of rooting out corruption in revenue administration. The engagement emphasizes anticorruption measures involving expertise in inspector general functions. Specific corruption deterrent measures include training investigators and auditors in handling internal controls, auditing IT systems security of confidential taxpayer information (and providing recommendations for system upgrades), and creating whistleblower support pathways. In 2020, the project will expand to support AFIP audit capacity, through implementation of a Quality Review Staff (Q.R.S.) in the general audit unit, and through advancement of the international auditor corps' handling of transfer pricing cases.
