The Republic of Niger Joins the Addis Tax Initiative

The members of the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) are pleased to welcome the Republic of Niger as its newest partner country. The ATI now comprises 27 partner countries, 20 development partners, and 20 supporting organisations that are committed to improving and promoting fair and effective domestic resource mobilisation (DRM) for the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Niger’s commitment to improving DRM and strengthening tax systems that work for its people is further seen via the recent reforms in the country's tax collection process. Specifically, it adopted technology in the monitoring of the taxpaying activities of its citizens at the national level via the Integrated Tax and Taxpayer Monitoring System (SISC) programme. Also, Niger's willingness to improve global transparency in tax systems is shown by its membership of the Global Forum on the Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes.

The ATI is pleased to expand the partnership with the Republic of Niger and continue the work with other partner countries, development partners, and supporting organisations in building fair and efficient tax systems that deliver public benefits and enable the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.
