International Budget Partnership joins the Addis Tax Initiative
Following the incorporation of the International Budget Partnership (IBP), the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) is now counting 25 partner countries, 20 development partners and 17 supporting organisations. Cooperation and common endeavours become increasingly important to catalyse domestic revenue mobilisation and support sustainable development.
IBP is an international organisation dedicated to ensuring that governments are responsible stewards of public funds. The organisation works with civil society partners in over 120 countries and fosters the promotion of inclusive sustainable development to boost equity and justice. IBP is ambitiously contributing to the empowerment of citizens to influence public budgeting processes and policy making as well as ensuring governments and other actors to provide transparent budget information and base their budget policies on fair taxation. As a result, IBP has launched a Tax Equity Initiative to ensure citizens and civil society have the tools needed to effectively engage in tax reforms.
The ATI is looking forward to the contribution of IBP on its cooperation with all other partner countries, development partners and supporting organisations to boost DRM towards the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
