COMPUTERIZED LAND REGISTRY IN HAITIINFORMATISATION DU REGISTRE FONCIER EN HAITI

The project aims to secure private land titles registered in the handwritten registers centralized at the Direction Generale des Impots in Port au Prince in Haiti. The implementation of a computerized land registry system aims to facilitate the registration of notarial records and the search and identification of land titles by the general public. The activities of the project include 1) digitizing and indexing over one million pages 2) integrating the data in a database 3) archiving manuscripts in a safe environment. The direct beneficiaries are the staff already in place the national institutions responsible of land reform in Haiti as well as 700 notaries and 600 surveyors operating on Haitian territory. Le projet (Projet d'informatisation du registre foncier en Haiti PIRFH) vise a securiser les titres fonciers prives inscrits aux registres manuscrits centralises a la Direction Generale des Impots a Port au Prince en Haiti. La mise en oeuvre d'un registre foncier informatise vise a permettre de passer d'un enregistrement manuscrit des actes notaries a un enregistrement dans un systeme informatique national. Il est attendu que ceci puisse faciliter la recherche et l'identification de titres par le grand public. Les activites du projet comprennent 1) numeriser et indexer plus d'un million de pages 2) integrer les informations a une base de donnees 3) archiver les registres manuscrits dans des lieux securises. Les beneficiaires directs sont le personnel deja sur place les institutions nationales chargees de reforme fonciere en Haiti ainsi que 700 notaires et 600 arpenteurs operant sur le territoire haitien.
