Webinar: Fostering transparency and accountability in tax expenditure policies and processes
The webinar will provide ATI partner countries with information on how to collect more and better data on tax expenditures and, in turn, assess this data to improve future policies. At the same time, it aims to foster an open exchange about the tax expenditure policy process, addressing questions of potential risks to transparency.
The webinar will be held by the International Budget Partnership (IBP) and the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE), along with the Council on Economic Policies (CEP). As publisher of the Open Budget Survey (OBS), IBP accounts for valuable expertise and insights that can help ATI partner countries to foster transparency around tax expenditures. A presentation of the new Global Tax Expenditure Database (GTED), developed by DIE and CEP, will also allow participants to engage in this activity to broaden public information and transparency in this matter.
