REGIONAL TECHNICAL WORKSHOP ON TAX EXPENDITURES

ECLAC Subregional headquarters in Mexico

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will hold the Regional Technical Workshop on Tax Expenditures on the 8th and 9th of November 2023 at ECLAC's Subregional Headquarters in Mexico City.

The workshop aims to establish a technical exchange between authorities and international organisations on tax expenditures and provide tools to strengthen their design, measurement, accountability, and evaluation. As a starting point for discussion, ECLAC will present a report on conceptual frameworks and international experiences for evaluating tax expenditures. This year's technical workshop places a special focus on the evaluation of tax expenditures.

This workshop is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and has the financial support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany.

👉 On 9th November, in the context of the ongoing workshop, the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) will deliver a presentation featuring ATI's ongoing efforts in the field of tax expenditures.
