2022 ATI General Assembly

The General Assembly of the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) will take place virtually on 23 and 24 March 2022

Programme

Despite the global Covid-19 pandemic and its dampening effects on international cooperation due to restrictions in personal exchange, the ATI managed to increase its network of members and continued to implement a wide range of activities and to maintain its role as an increasingly important player in the field of tax and development. To this date, the ATI accounts for 25 partner countries, 20 development partners and 20 supporting organisations. The ATI General Assembly will provide a forum for members to reflect on current progress and challenges towards achieving the four new ATI commitments included in the ATI Declaration 2025. It will provide a valuable opportunity to renew momentum regarding the ATI’s contribution towards financing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the upcoming 2022 ATI General Assembly, ATI members will be given the space to frankly discuss about their progress, challenges, and respective lessons learnt on their way towards enhancing domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM) in the context of the recovery from COVID-19. In a panel session, high-level ATI representatives will discuss the "just transition and green recovery approach for DRM" in ATI partner countries. In addition, the 2022 ATI General Assembly will revisit the ATI Matchmaking Platform, see the presentation of the 2019 ATI Monitoring Report, and bring together the ATI Consultative Groups to present the post-2020 monitoring framework and agree on further steps towards the implementation of the ATI Declaration 2025.

The virtual meeting will be organised and conceptualised by the International Tax Compact (ITC), in its role as ATI Secretariat, in close cooperation with the ATI Steering Committee. The virtual meeting will be conducted via MS Teams and is targeted to ATI members. If you have not received an invitation link, kindly message the ATI Secretariat at secretariat@taxcompact.net
