11th Annual Congress of the African Tax Research Network (ATRN)

The focus of the congress will be on contemporary taxation issues in Africa.

The African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) is hosting the 11th Annual Congress of the African Tax Research Network (ATRN) between  8-10 September 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda. The congress will focus on contemporary taxation issues in Africa including:

  • Digitalisation, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Tax Administration 
  • The Impact of Tariffs and Trade Wars on Domestic Resource Mobilisation in Africa 
  • Global Minimum Tax (Pillar Two), BEPS and Tax Incentives Transfer Pricing, Profit Shifting and Cross-Border Taxation 
  • Wealth Taxes 
  • Regional Tax Harmonisation, Trade Policy, and Domestic Resource Mobilisation under the AfCFTA 
  • Illicit Financial Flows, Tax Evasion and Transparency
