January 2019

The members of the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) met from 27-28 November 2018 in Paris. The meeting consisted of a plenary meeting and meetings of the three ATI Consultative Groups. 54 delegates from the ATI members participated in the meeting. They provided an update on the work of the Addis Tax Initiative and the ATI Consultative Groups, presented reports on approaches adopted by ATI members for implementing the ATI commitments, shared the reform journeys of the ATI partner countries, and worked on a potential roadmap for the Addis Tax Initiative beyond 2020.

The goals of the first day of the ATI meeting in Paris were as follows:

  1. To present an update on the work of the Addis Tax Initiative and its consultative groups;
  2. To provide an opportunity for partner countries to present their priority areas where support is needed, and for development partners to present  their available offer for support or advisory on how partners countries can improve within their areas of needs;
  3. To provide the ATI members with an opportunity to discuss the agenda for the Addis Tax Initiative beyond 2020.

The ATI meeting followed up with a meeting of the three ATI Consultative Groups on day two to provide an update on their current work lines, discuss opportunities arising from planned activities, and plan the activities to be delivered in 2019.
