Mauritania Joins the Addis Tax Initiative

Mauritania has joined the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI), becoming the latest partner country in the growing list of ATI members. In recognition of Mauritania's strong commitment to improving domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM) to ensure better public service delivery and ultimately achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the ATI is pleased to welcome Mauritania to our multi-stakeholder partnership platform, which will now include 26 partner countries, 20 development partners, and 20 supporting organisations.

Mauritania has demonstrated the country’s interest in reforming its DRM strategies to better mobilise and utilise revenues and in combating tax evasion by joining other complementary initiatives such as the Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), the Global Forum on Transparency and the Exchange of Information and by signing the Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.

The ATI welcomes the opportunity to work with Mauritania and other partner countries, development partners, and supporting organisations in building transparent and equitable tax systems to meet the financing needs to attain the Sustainable Development Goals.
