Tax Justice Network Africa joins the Addis Tax Initiative

In the spirit of broadening its membership, the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) welcomes Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA) as a new supporting organisation of the initiative. TJNA will collaborate with 62 like-minded members of the initiative to enhance domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM) for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 

TJNA is a pan-African research and advocacy organisation established in 2007 with a vision to see a new Africa where tax justice prevails and ensures an equitable, inclusive and sustainable development. TJNA is focused on its mission of spearheading tax justice in Africa’s development by enabling citizens and institutions to promote equitable tax systems through research, capacity-building and policy-influencing. TJNA collaborates closely with its member organisations and other civil society partners across Africa to curb illicit financial flows and promote progressive taxation systems. It also advocates for pro-poor tax policies and the strengthening of tax systems to promote DRM.

With the addition of the TJNA, the ATI now numbers 25 partner countries, 20 development partners and 18 supporting organisations that are working together in a collaborative spirit to promote DRM and supporting sustainable development.  The ATI is looking forward working with TJNA and support efforts to implement the ATI commitments laid out in the ATI Declaration 2025.
