African Tax Administration Forum ATAF

African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF) (http www.ataftax.net en ) is an intergovernmental organisation comprised of 40 African countries' tax administrations. ATAF was established in 2009 and its Secretariat is located in Pretoria. _x000D__x000D_

ATAF's objective is to promote efficient and effective tax administration to improve the living standards of the people of Africa. ATAF strives to provide a platform to improve the performance of tax administration in Africa. Better tax administration will enhance economic growth increase accountability of the state to its citizens and effectively mobilise domestic resources._x000D__x000D_

Finland's strategic dialogue with ATAF started in 2012 and Finland has been financing ATAF's work during the years 2017 19 and 2020 22. Finland's contribution is a part of ATAF's pool funding. During the years 2022 25 Finland's contribution to ATAF will be 2 700 000 euros altogether 900 000 euros yearly. _x000D__x000D_

Finland's funding to ATAF supports the Taxation for Development Action Programme's objectives. Finland is committed to strengthening the tax base of developing countries as part of the Addis Tax Initiative.
