Green Taxation Conference: Reform options for the Romanian buildings and transport sectors
How can a green tax reform help Romania tackle climate change, improve air quality, while protecting households’ energy affordability?
This event forms part of the project "Support for the implementation of green taxation and CBAM in Romania," funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument and implemented in collaboration with the European Commission and the Romanian Ministry of Finance. The conference will explore options for green tax reform in Romania’s buildings and transport sectors, with a focus on revenue, environmental and distributional impacts. It builds on the project’s key outputs, including a review of green taxation in Romania, an assessment of international best practices and the development of a simulation model to analyse impacts of reform options.
