Dialogue on Tax and SDGs 2023
Taxation can drive sustainable development, strengthen social contracts, and impact key SDGs like health, climate, and governance. This year's Dialogue on Tax and SDGs will explore how tax policies and administration can build equitable societies with robust, just tax systems.
Building on last year's success, the 2023 Dialogue on Tax and SDGs aims to enable global leaders, thinkers, policymakers, tax administrators and diplomats, academics, and thought leaders to engage in constructive dialogues and find pragmatic solutions and interdisciplinary strategies for innovative tax measures that advance the SDGs.
Sessions will address topics like reshaping social contracts, global economics amid debt and interest rates, and the links between tax and gender equality. The goal is to deepen understanding and drive collaborative action on taxation and SDGs.
The event will highlight how tax can transform economies and societies, the need for transparency and accountability, and the media's role in rallying support for SDG-focused tax policies.
👉 On 16th November, in the context of the ongoing Dialogue on Tax and SDGs 2023, the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) will co-host a session on Strengthening Tax Compliance Through Technical Assistance together with the Swedish Tax Agency (STA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
